Swedish National Audit Office to host conference for young European auditors

The Swedish National Audit Office is inviting young auditors from almost 50 countries to participate in a conference in Stockholm in September. The purpose is to share new ideas and solutions to challenges that supreme audit institutions face today and in the future.

Supreme audit institutions are important actors that ensure transparency and efficient public spending. The European organisation of supreme audit institutions, EUROSAI, promotes professional cooperation among its members. The development of the audit profession is one of the issues that the members are engaged in. The Young EUROSAI (YES) conference is held every two years and is an opportunity for young auditors (35 years or younger) to share experience and knowledge.

– I am proud and honoured to host the YES conference. This initiative gives young auditors in Europe a chance to develop as professionals and be inspired. The conference will hopefully result in new ideas and a professional network that will continue long after the conference in Stockholm is over, says Auditor General Helena Lindberg.

The main theme of the conference is “experimental culture”. In a rapidly changing world, it is important to seek, test and learn new methods and ways of working. Exchanging best practices within EUROSAI is a great way to inspire and help each other achieve results.

The conference will be held on 12–15 September and will include workshops and seminars on various topics, given by a number of speakers in various areas of expertise.
