Stabilisation Fund (full report) (RiR 2011:26)
The Government created the Stability Fund to be able to finance future financial crisis. One of the main principles was that the credit-giving institutions, and not the citizens, were to pay for the major part of the potential bailouts of the financial sector. An audit carried out by the Swedish NAO shows that the Stability Fund, in fact, to a large extent, is financed by the tax payers.
