Food control – is central government fulfilling its responsibility? (RiR 2014:12)
There have been problems in public food control for a long period. There are deficiencies in the county administrative boards’ controls of agriculture and other primary producers and many municipalities cannot manage their task of inspecting stores and restaurants, for example. An audit by the Swedish National Audit Office shows that central government has not taken its responsibility for effective food control.
