Media contacts
Responsibility for communication has been delegated within the Swedish National Audit Office. If you want to ask about a specific audit or government agency, you will usually be referred to the project leader for the audit or the auditor in charge.

Freedom of communication for our staff
All employees of public sector authorities, including the staff of the Swedish National Audit Office, have the right to freedom of communication. This means that they have the right to share information with the media without the employer having the right to investigate by whom the information was shared.
Requesting official documents
The principle of public access to official documents means that the public is entitled to transparency regarding public sector activities, for example at central government agencies. That right includes the possibility to request access to what are known as official documents.
For a document to be deemed official, it must be held by a public authority, considered to have been received or drawn up by such an authority.
At the Swedish National Audit Office, this means that our reports are not official documents until they are completed, since they have not yet been drawn up. The same applies to other documents that have not been completed. These documents are regarded as working material and will not be released.
