About The Swedish National Audit Office

Through independent auditing, we provide insight into central government spending, the efficiency of government agencies and whether political decisions lead to the intended results. This knowledge can be used to improve the work of the Government and the government agencies and save tax money.

Everyone has the right to know how well the central government is doing its job

You should be able to trust that the decisions that have been made are followed and that tax revenues are used efficiently. Through our audits, we contribute to transparency on the efficiency of central government operations.

Our organisation

Access to facts has never been more important

Our central government agencies deal with important functions in society, on which we all depend, and which must stand up to scrutiny. It is a matter of democratic transparency. And access to facts.
