The Swedish National Audit Office conducts international development cooperation on behalf of the Riksdag. Within the scope of this framework, the Swedish National Audit Office has supported the Audit Chamber of Armenia since 2021.
This cooperation has so far aimed to improve the conditions for performance auditing as well as internal and external communication. The new cooperation also covers financial auditing and strategic governance. The project period will run until 2030, with the possibility of extension for another five years.
“The long-term aim is to strengthen our Armenian colleagues’ capability to operate in line with international standards and function efficiently as a supreme audit institution,” says Auditor General Christina Gellerbrant Hagberg.
This project will be carried out on site in Armenia and through digital meetings. The Swedish National Audit Office will provide expertise in areas covered by the cooperation.
Cooperation also to continue with Kosovo and Moldova
Earlier this year, the Swedish National Audit Office also prolonged its development cooperation with the National Audit Office of Kosovo and the Court of Accounts of Moldova.
Cooperation with the National Audit Office of Kosovo has been ongoing since 2011, with a broad focus on the institutional development of the organisation. The new project period focuses on providing continued support in three areas: performance auditing, strategic management, leadership and internal communication.
Our cooperation with the Court of Accounts of Moldova was launched in 2007. During the new programme period, the Court of Accounts will develop its ability to conduct high-quality performance audits. The Swedish National Audit Office will also continue to provide support in leadership, human resources, training and quality management.
